I remember trying this 3 years ago when I was in NY and ever since I’ve wanted to get my hands on this. Some of you might remember this from Jo Malone’s Tea Blend collection that sold out pretty quickly! I remember this and earl grey that really captured my heart. Fortunately, you can now get Assam & Grapefruit and Neiman Marcus (USD60 and also where I got mine) & Selfridges. I suspect Heathrow airport might have it but best to check!
A while ago I posted about getting Earl Grey & Cucumber. I loved it and I still love it. It’s still in Malaysia so I can’t wait till I get to spray it on myself again. A month ago, after wanting to get Assam & Grapefruit for over a year – I finally have it. I kept putting it off because I’d want to buy something else but there was no excuse when they also had a gift with purchase offer. It was just a 15ml Orange blossom body cream but I was sold!
I would warn those who intend to purchase that it’s as fleeting as Jo Malone gets so this won’t fare well in warm weathers but it is a warm tea scent that pairs well with the citrus from the grapefruit which never overshadows the tea scent. This would pair very well with Earl Grey & Cucumber. Which would I pick between the two? I don’t think I can decide.
You can read more reviews about the perfume here.
1 month after purchasing the candle from Byredo I felt like I needed another one. It never ends does it? Having just the one candle can be boring!
I might have mentioned before that I wasn’t entirely impressed by my first candle which happened to be Orange Blossom but the throw of this candle is really good. It has also been burning really well! My only gripe is the packaging. I get that this is for charity but nothing about this candle aside from the scent reminds me of luxury. Shame because it would’ve been nice to have a candle lid!
More about this candle from jomalone.co.uk:
Inspired by a rambling English garden. Our Limited Edition Rose & Rosemary Charity Candle is abundant with roses, enlivened with invigorating thyme and deepened with rosemary and woody sage. Rustic and aromatic.
I enjoy getting a whiff of roses in between all that herb. It’s fairly invigorating!
I am not sure if they have this in Malaysia or Australia as I purchased mine from the US. It costs a bit more at USD75.
On a side note…I just saw pictures of Jo Malone’s Rain collection. Such beauties!!! I doubt I’d get it if it’s in a 100ml bottle though, it’s just too much of an investment.
I think I am soon running out of orange blossom products to buy from Jo Malone. I just need to get my hands on the dry oil that has been discontinued.
I decided to light this candle a few weeks ago when I was feeling really stressed. There’s nothing more painful than lighting something as beautiful as this, there was a bow tied to the candle lid!
I was slightly disappointed by the throw but glad to say it got better the 2nd time. This is personally my favourite Jo Malone scent so no complaints from me.
How does this compare to Diptyque candles? Diptyque has a much better throw and is cheaper to buy (in Malaysia but comparable overseas). Jo Malone comes with a classy lid and scents unique to to the range which are absolutely lovely. If you have a lot of candles a lid is really important to maintain the longevity of a candle.
Next on my list is Rosemary and Rose which is a limited edition. I wonder if it will ever hit our shores.
Price: GBP30.40 from Heathrow. I believe in Malaysia it’s around RM270 at Pavilion.

From the description itself there’s no mistaking that this will be lovely. I’ll admit I have my doubts about its longevity on my skin, peonies tend to be quite soft. We’ll soon know.
Top note: Red apple
Heart notes: Peony, Jasmine, Rose, Gillyflower, Honey
Base note: Suede
Expected to hit stores in September 2013 so I suppose it really isn’t coming ‘that’ soon.
First impressions, this reminds me of Sakura Cherry Blossom.
Delicately exotic. This white flower captures the duality of apricot counterpoised with supple leather. Luminous petitgrain and luscious peach and orange flower ripple over voluptuous cashmere wood.
Well, maybe it’s just my skin but it must’ve just skipped everything and went straight to the base which comes across as being quite musky.
No apricot, leather, petit grain, peach or orange flower. It doesn’t necessarily come across as smelling fresh like how most reviews have suggested. It starts off smelling a lot sharper but glad to say the dry down is softer and more soothing.
Suggest you ladies try this at the store before buying it. Available at Jo Malone Pavillion Malaysia.
The GE13 election after-math is proving to be quite entertaining. The shenanigans only Malaysian politicians are capable of.
I am also sad to learn that a relative has passed away. Her passing away has me thinking about making long term changes to my life choices.
My favorite Jo Malone sales associate has left Saks 5th avenue. Here I was looking forward to seeing her in July only to find out I’ve just missed her by 2 months. It’s hard to find SAs that I genuinely like and feel like I have a connection with.
Somber news aside, I have gotten my hands on a bottle of osmanthus blossom, I cannot wait to try it. Stay tuned.

In 2011 we had Sakura Blossom, 2012 Plum Blossom (I haven’t even tried this!) and in 2013 we have Osmanthus Blossom.
Judging from the review by British Beauty Blogger this sounds like something I would like.
The fragrance is quite green with petitgrain, osmanthus blossom and cashmere wood combining to give an overall effect of softened green.
I like petitgrain, osmanthus and in general green fragrances so I guess it won’t be a disappointment. Oh wait, Elderflower and Gooseberry was a disappointment so who knows. It has also been suggested on several blogs that it starts off with a strong apricot note.
Does anyone know when this will launch in Malaysia?
