Caudalie vinosource hydrating set review

My priority is to finish packing and all that I’ve done this week has nothing to do with packing. That includes writing this review despite having very little time left. I travel long distances for long periods of time at least once a year yet I have yet to master the art of packing.

My skin has been looking pretty disgusting around the chin and jawline and the only thing that made it better was a facial last week. The difference is astounding. What the heck am I gonna do about facials next month?!

About 2 months ago I decided I wanted to try the Vinosource range by Caudalie. My skin was thirsty and this looked light enough for my combination skin. I chanced across this set where you pay for the serum and got a deluxe sized grape water and moisturiser for free. Even better, nothing I like more than gift sets 😀

I am now down to 1/3 of the serum and I have enjoyed using this. It’s hydrating without breaking me out and the moisturiser is similar to clarins hydraquench gel cream. This would suit girls in humid weathers but anywhere else, I am not too sure the combination is enough. I am now itching to try a few more hydrating ranges out in the market.

I received deluxe samples of the radiance range as well with my purchase and I had to get more cleansing water. If there is something you need to try from this brand, it’s the cleansing water! Oil and standard makeup removers can just move aside because it’s so convenient!

Price: usd48 and in Malaysia they have a promotion at Ken’s apothecary (see below). I think the RRP is RM171?

Bioderma Sebium H2O

I picked this over the normal pink capped version because I have combination skin.

I really enjoyed using Caudalie’s Cleansing Water and it has piqued my interest when it comes to Micellar water. It is just so convenient.

Everything about this product is decent.
– cleanses well
– affordable
– gentle

…but I absolutely hate the scent. GAG.

Comparing this to Caudalie, I would pick Caudalie even with the higher price tag.

Caudalie divine oil

I came across a review that said it had a really nice fresh/green scent so I was really surprised when I used this for the first time and the scent reminded me of Nuxe – white florals but not as heady.

That aside its a great product that does its job moisturizing my skin, sinking in quick enough and never feeling too heavy. I would never use this during the day.

The spray was a stand out for me, dispensing an fine mist evenly. I never thought that possible for oil.

On a side note, how similar do these 2 bottles look?

Nuxe travel kit

Travelling with a pathetic limit of 20kg means I’m forced to buy the necessities at my holiday destination. Not that I’m complaining because France has a lot of options!

Priced at 9.99euros it’s quite a bargain (just don’t convert). I think this was better than the travel kit offered by caudalie if you’re after skin care. A quick review on the products.

Micellar water: couldn’t stand the scent, was ok, prefer caudalie.

Creme Prodigiuse:  It’s got a really strong floral scent that would give one the impression that it’s a heavy cream. By no means is the texture light but oily this is not.

Huile Prodigieuse: That famous dry body oil. One tiny bottle that has lasted so many uses, i’m impressed. The scent is quite overpowering so I picked the full size caudalie body oil over this.

Hand cream: MEH. kinda sticky sorta hydrating. I don’t like sticky.

Fondant shower gel: it’s really gentle, cleans fairly well but I don’t see the appeal.
