Acuvue is the only contact lenses brand that I’ve ever tried

I’ve worn this brand of lenses for 10 years now. I’ve always been on their fortnightly lenses with no incident until I started wearing Acuvue Oasys.

You would think more expensive + newer = better. Not in this case.

I wasn’t sure whether it was the lenses when my eyes would get very irritated. I don’t really dare to wear this while I have a nap as there would be times when my eyes would get really red and itchy. It got so bad my eye balls would bulge.

After a week or so, it starts getting very uncomfortable and sometimes I can’t even really put it on, my eye balls would reject them and all it feels like some thing is lodged in my eye.

I also found myself rubbing my eyes a lot.

None of the above ever happened to me before with Acuvue 2 or Advance.

I went to the optometrist as the sight on my left eye was deteriorating, I thought my power had increased. I was referred to the eye specialist who told me that I had developed an eye infection, something to do with a lot of white dots and tears in my cornea. 4 mths later, 3 visits and many prescription eye drops later, I apparently have full vision again.

I purchased 2 boxes of Acuvue tru eye dailies which are very comfortable to replace Oasys. Sadly, I can’t find Acuvue Advance anywhere. The Tru Eye dailies are very expensive though, the cheapest you can get them for are at RM230 for 2 boxes (less if you get 6 boxes).

I just think to myself, how do people afford to pay over $200 of their salary for contact lenses alone?

Luckily I did a bit of digging around and saw this! HALLELUJAH! Acuvue Advance Plus I hope to replace that good for nothing Oasys lenses. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET THIS BE THE SOLUTION I NEED. I can’t wait for it to arrive in Malaysia (I’m guessing it’ll take at least a year) so I’m going to order them from the US and hope it’s as good or even better than Acuvue Advance. Stay tuned.
